Our cottages are available
for rent from April 1 through October 31 each year.
Cottages are rented on a weekly basis only from Memorial Day until late
September.
In April and May and October, some cottages have a two night minimum stay
requirement, other cottages have a three night minimum stay while others are
one week only (cottage owners decide).
Our well and septic systems are sized for the maximum occupancy allowed to
protect our fragile area. We cannot allow even one extra person over the
maximum for each cottage.
Maximum occupancy for a one bedroom cottage is 2 people (including babies)
Maximum occupancy for a two bedroom cottage is 4 people (including babies)
Maximum occupancy for a three bedroom cottage is 6 people (including babies)
Maximum occupancy for a four bedroom cottage is 8 people (including babies)
We do not accept any credit cards. We do employ a trusted online payment
processor which allow you to use your credit or debit card to make a
payment. This payment is subject to their additional processing
fee (2.5% of amount being paid).
A 50% deposit is required for a confirmed reservation (cash or check drawn
from a U.S. bank only)
Some cottages require a signed lease and a security deposit.
Reservations are considered as commitments for the full time period requested.
Deposits are viewed by cottage owners as security against vacancies caused by
cancellations or date changes.
If you must cancel a reservation, your deposit will be refunded (minus a
cancellation fee equal to 15% of the total rent amount) as soon as the cottage
is re-rented for that reservation period and the next renter's deposit is
received.
If the cottage is not re-rented for the same
reservation period, the deposit is forfeited.
We understand that there are many legitimate reasons to have
to cancel a reservation, some personal, some tragic and some are just
unavoidable. If you cannot risk forfeiting your deposit, we would
suggest "Trip Cancellation Insurance." (See below)
Sorry, no refunds given for early departures. Try as we might, we cannot
guarantee weather.
We highly recommend that you
consider trip cancellation insurance if there is a chance that you might not
be able to honor your reservation. We especially recommend this insurance if
you are making a reservation during hurricane season (August, September and
October....especially September).
InsureMyTrip
represents many different companies and offers different levels of coverage
at different rates. One of these might be right for you.
There is no longer a central office at Surf Side
Cottages. While management personnel are on the property every day, if
you have any questions, concerns or problems we encourage you to always
call the main Surf Side number: 508-349-3959. The
managers can be reached by calling this local number at any time.
CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT
CHECK-IN TIME for cottage
rentals is now 4:00 pm due to the required enhanced cleaning. In-season, early check-ins are rarely possible
since we only have a limited time to get our cottages ready for the next
renter. We would appreciate a phone call (508-349-3959) if you will be
arriving after 6:00 pm
CHECK-OUT TIME is 10:00 am. We are sorry
but because we only have a limited time to get our cottages ready for
the next renter, late check-outs are usually not possible.
QUIET HOURS
Quite hours begin at 10:00 pm each night. During "Quiet
Hours" all guests are asked to restrict their activities, both inside
and outside their cottage, to those that do not impact their neighbors.
This includes, but is not restricted to, those activities that may
awaken a sleeping child next door.
LINENS AND CLEANING
PROVIDED IN THE COTTAGE:
Blankets, pillows, Bedspreads, dishes, pots and pans, cooking and eating
utensils, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, stove, refrigerator,
charcoal BBQ (unless otherwise noted), outdoor picnic table. Most
cottages have land-line telephones with private numbers.
NOT PROVIDED: Sheets, pillowcases and
towels, including beach towels, and household paper products are not
provided.
RENTAL LINENS AND TOWELS: Clean and
bagged sheets,
pillowcases and towels can be rented for the week, with advance notice,
for the additional fee of $20.00 per person.
PLEASE REMEMBER: These are housekeeping
cottages. There is no maid service. Cleaning supplies are provided.
All renters are expected to leave the cottage neat and clean for the
next renter. Cleaning guidelines are provided. Our staff go in
between renters to sanitize the kitchen and bath but the cottage should
already be clean. When you reserve a cottage with us, you are agreeing
to leave the cottage in the same condition as you found it. Since the
pandemic, the cottage is thoroughly disinfected and aired out between
each guest.
SMOKING: All of our cottages are
non-smoking. Please smoke outside, keep ashtrays outdoors and smoke
away from open doors and windows. Thank You.
Please notify us immediately if anything is not in working order in your
cottage.
Pets
Pets are allowed in some cottages for an
additional fee with prior approval.
The Surf Side Cottages Condo rule states no pets are allowed
during the summer rental season (3rd week in June until
September 1).
Some cottages have a no pet policy all the time (cottage owners' decision)
Call us or send an email with your pet questions.
We collect information from you when you make a "booking
request" or reservation.
When reserving a cottage, you will be asked to supply your: name, e-mail
address, mailing address and a contact telephone number. You may,
however, visit our site anonymously.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used
in one of the following ways:
To process transactions:
Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold,
exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason
whatsoever. It is collected for the express purpose of processing
your reservation for vacation accommodations. To send periodic emails:
The email address you provide with your reservation may be used to
send you information and updates pertaining to your reservation, in
addition to receiving occasional news and updates related to
Surfside Cottages and Cape Cod.
DO WE DISCLOSE ANY INFORMATION TO OUTSIDE PARTIES?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside
parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your
information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law,
contact tracing, to enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or
safety. Non-personally identifiable visitor information may be collected, to
monitor where our web visitors come from, for marketing and advertising
purposes.
CALIFORNIA ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT COMPLIANCE
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary
precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy
Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information
to outside parties without your consent.
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA
(Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). We do not collect any
information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and
services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
You must be 21 years of age or older to reserve a cottage.
