There is a "right-of-way" path down to a tidal creek (Black Fish Creek)
which is a great place to launch a kayak or small boat at high tide.
There is no beach and it gets muddy at low tide. It is definitely not
a swimming spot.

Black Fish Creek is a great cottage in a great location. But don't take our word for it.
Below are unedited reviews written by past renters of this cottage.
"This is a lovely little cottage in a quiet and private area. The neighboring properties aren’t right on top of you, which was especially nice during Covid. Also nice during Covid was how uncluttered the house was and therefore easy to clean.
There’s a public trail down to the salt marsh that’s very quiet and made for a good daily dog walk. The patio space out back was great for morning coffee and evening meals.
It was great to be able to do laundry, but since there isn’t a dryer, I’d bring extra clean and dry towels for a week’s stay if there’s rain in the forecast and you won’t be able to hang things outside to dry fully.
It was so nice to spend a week away, and the cottage was so quiet. P. Davies , Chelmsford, MA September 2020

My wife and I came to Cape Cod for a workshop at the Cape Cod Institute. We had reserved a room at a recommended B
& B and stayed there for a few nights - but our room was SO small and cramped that we just couldn't stay.
One of our fellow participants suggested Surf Side Cottages where she was staying, we immediately called and were able
to reserve the last cottage they had available. We were sent to Black Fish Creek Cottage and it is heavenly.
It's further from the beach from their other cottages (we have to drive) but it is so beautifully equipped that we are
ecstatic we came. For the same price we paid at the B & B in the tiniest room known to man, we now have 2 bedrooms, a bath,
full kitchen, living room and patio with chairs and grill. The cottage is nestled in the woods and there is only one other
cottage close by. It is private, peaceful and relaxing. Peter was the person who greeted us - so friendly, helpful and willing
to go the extra mile. Technically, for this cottage, it is your responsibility to bring bedding and towels but because we were
so last minute, they gladly provided them - no extra charge! We had a question about the Wi-Fi and Peter drove over personally
to take care of it. He's very knowledgeable about the area and offered great suggestions. We are so pleased with our cottage
and highly recommend Black Fish Creek Cottage.

Black Fish Creek is a well kept, handsomely decorated cottage packed full with everything you need feeling like home. The kitchen is fully equipped
making your meals so enjoyable you may decide to stay in and eat. The bathroom is large and perfect for those indoor showers. The beds are comfortable
and you get a great nights sleep. The living room is cozy, and I personally loved the sofa. I wish I could get the same one for my home. I simply did
not want to move on that rainy day that you sometimes get while on The Cape. This cottage made those days so very pleasant. So roomy and cozy all at
the same time. The open layout with its vaulted beamed ceilings is exquisite. The location is great. The neighbors are kind and considerate and very
quite. Everyone wanting the same thing...peace and relaxation! We stayed in other cottages in Surf Side and loved them all and Black Fish Creek although
not as close to the ocean as others is still a smart choice. Armand and Lisa are the best managers. They answer your call and are there in a moments
notice ready to accommodate and meet your every need. We can't say enough about how they run Surf Side. Hard working, kind and considerate, they sure
know what you want in your rental. They have a keen insight to what you will be happy in and try very hard to make it happen for you. They are eager
to please and easy to talk to! Hard to find these days. Loved our stay and did not want to leave, but planning on our next visit to Surf Side is
making the time pass by on a happy note. Highly recommend Black Fish Creek and accolades to the owners for their decorating taste.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Black Fish Creek cottage recently with my dog and boyfriend. We loved the cozy cottage and it provided us with
all that we needed and exceeded our expectations. It is set off the road so my dog was able to be off-leash, which she loved. The cottage itself is
very quaint with beautiful hard wood floors, lots of windows and light and open floor plan. The location is close to Marconi beach and a fabulous
French Boulangerie. We received friendly and helpful service from Surfside Cottages and we hope to return and I will recommend to friends and family.

We truly enjoyed the spacious and modern cottage at black fish creek. The kitchen is well equipped. The area is very quiet and peaceful this time
of year, we rested and enjoyed the cottage all day sat. We'll definitely come back. --- A reviewer from Pawtauket, RI “Ideal Secluded Cottage Conveniently Close to all attractions”

There are so many things that were perfect about our summer rental at Black Fish Creek Cottage. The house itself is a spacious two bedroom open
concept home with vaulted ceilings and an updated kitchen and bathroom and is located in a nice secluded spot a few blocks off the main road. We
also happily took advantage of the spacious outside shower, the gas grill on the back porch, and the washing machine in the basement that also had
plenty of storage area for our bikes and rafts. An unexpected bonus was that basic cable and direct internet access were also available and used!
The price was excellent - especially when compared to other rentals that we had looked at online. We made excellent use of the paved 50+ mile bike
trail that has an access point very close to the house as well as Marconi Beach that is just on the other side of the main road. By being centrally
located near Wellfleet, we also had easy drives to all the points that interested us and that the excellent management team of Armand and Lisa Audette
steered us to: Provincetown with its shopping, restaurants, and whale watching tours; Wellfleet with its shopping, clay tennis court club, and party
boat fishing; and Orleans where Nauset Beach and Bay side beaches are nearby. There are great restaurants all around, and we even saw gray seals on
a couple of occasions swimming with the beach goers.
We had a fantasic vacation that was centered around our stay at Black Fish Creek Cottage, and we definitely look forward to staying there again the
next time we visit Cape Cod! ---Tom H from Virginia “Our Spring Break Week”

This was the first time we stayed at Blackfish Creek. We have been coming up to the Wellfleet area for 15 years, beginning with our honeymoon.
Surfside properties are well kept and Blackfish Creek is no exception. It was cozy and comfortable; even though the week we were there was cold and
rainy. Even without a fireplace, the cottage was toasty due to a gas stove that was quaint. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipt.
We have reserved this cottage for the upcoming Columbus Day weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone.---A reviewer from Meriden, CT “delightful”

4 of us spent a delightful two weeks at Black Fish Creek Cottage. The location on a small hill under the pines was wonderfully quiet yet convenient
to beaches, summer theatre and many good restaurants. We especially appreciated the excellent kitchen, deck and outdoor shower. The cottage is cozy and
comfortable when it rains with excellent TV and radio connections as well.
Armand and Lisa of Surfside were instantly responsive to any questions or needs which were few. ---Dab, MA “Cozy Retreat”

We stayed here for an off-season weekend. The cottage was clean and nicely refurbished. The location was perfect for us as we could bring our kayaks
down to Black Fish Creek and paddle out to Wellfleet Bay. The cottage was nicely situated on top of a hill with a breeze. Would highly recommend it.
