It's a vacation where the
beach is the main attraction; where an evening of talking
and playing family games replaces staring at a picture tube.
Wellfleet is a town that will never have a
McDonald's or a Burger King. Of course you can still
find a hamburger or a fish sandwich, and I'm willing to bet
you will agree that they taste fresher and better than one
you can get at any fast food chain. As one local
restaurateur once explained: "We don't grow square fish
here." Here, one favorite family outing is to watch two
movies for one admission price at the local Drive-In Movie
theater.
We
often see families arrive with children who are sporting sad
faces because they had to leave their X-Box and Nintendo at
home. These same families can be found one week later
packing up for home and those same children are again
sporting sad faces, this time because they have to go home
and must wait an entire year for a chance to return to their
Cape Cod cottage by the sea!
Surfside vacations are the
type of vacations children will remember for the rest of
their lives. When they are grown and on their own,
